With growing business presence in the key Asian growth markets of China, India, Indonesia and Vietnam, the company would like to invite suitably qualified candidates to join our team in Indonesia as Senior Geologist.

SENIOR GEOLOGIST

Under the direction of the GM - Exploration and working closely with the drilling team, plan, initiate and implement exploration programs in a timely and effective manner. The Senior Geologist will be responsible for geological activities across all our projects in Indonesia and other duties as Arrow Energy may from time to time direct. The candidate is mainly Jakarta Office based but travel to project site/s will be required.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Geology and Drilling
  • Research, review and assess geological and geophysical data in the planning, implementation and monitoring of exploration activities for company tenure areas; work closely with GM Exploration, Geologist, GIS and drilling team members to develop exploration targets
  • Collaborate with GIS and drilling teams to ensure effective implementation of the exploration programs
  • Supervise all aspects of geology during exploration and pilot drilling as required
  • Develop and maintain geological model (Kingdom, Minex or Map Info) for each exploration target area
  • Update and maintain the integrity of geological database, files and well cards
  • Prepare Well Proposals and compile Well Completion Reports in a timely manner
  • Preparation/presentation of technical material to the company's management, partner(s) and government officials as required
  • Supervise and mentor junior geologists
  • Prepare written reports on various exploration activities/tenure areas and on the assessment of geological basins as required
  • Work with Drilling Supervisors during the planning phase, and in recommending variations to agreed expenditure as set out in Well Proposals; participate in AFE preparation for drilling activities
  • Assist the GM Exploration in the preparation of company budgets
  • Apply, monitor and audit company standards, procedures and policies in all aspects of exploration operations, and make recommendations regarding changes if deemed necessary
Contractor Supervision and Communication
  • Monitor geological contractors and drilling contractor performance, particularly in regards to safety and adherence to schedules
  • Assist in resolution of contractual matters and represent company's interests at all times
  • Maintain knowledge and status of contractor and company logistical issues
Actively support Arrow's commitment to occupational health and safety and the environment, including:
  • Observe and perform activities to comply with Company Health and Safety Management systems Adopting standard safe work practices and procedures in accordance with Arrow's safety policies
  • Adopting standard safe work practices and procedures in accordance with Arrow's safety policies
  • Eliminating or reporting workplace hazards, taking part in safety drills and other activities and supporting the work of safety representatives and committees
  • Conducting activities in accordance with Arrow's environmental policies, codes and guidelines, in particular minimising energy and material usage in the workplace
Education / Qualifications : As a minimum - Bachelor Degree Majoring in Geology

Experience: 7 - 10 years' working knowledge and field experience in coal seam gas (CSG) or coal exploration and production areas and skills with modelling software will be a distinct advantage
