Shell Exploration & Production Asia Pacific operates in seven countries Malaysia, Brunei Darussalam, China, Philippines, New Zealand, Australia and Singapore.

We currently have positions available in Miri, Malaysia.

Responsibilities:

  • Assess, quantify, report and mature the hydrocarbon resource-base through appropriate application of reservoir engineering techniques;
  • Ensure appropriate technically robust sub-surface reservoir models are available to support development activities and investment decisions;
  • Implement reservoir engineering-related technologies and techniques to improve and enhance asset performance;
  • Ensure reservoir engineering activities are implemented in line with industry best practices, Shell Group processes, standards and guidelines;
  • Contribute to efficient cross-discipline integration and the effective working of multi-disciplinary field/study teams;
  • Assist in the personal development of reservoir engineering colleagues (through mentorship, coaching, information sharing etc.) to help improve technical competence levels and performance.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in science, engineering or petroleum engineering;
  • Demonstrable experience in a reservoir engineering role, including both reservoir management and field development aspects;
  • At least some experience with reservoir modeling and reservoir simulation. A clear appreciation of the key risks and technical issues associated with sub-surface and surface field development opportunities;
  • Demonstrable leadership, communication and interpersonal skills;
  • A proven track record of delivering business results in a challenging environment.
